Professional Experience

Larry has been practicing law in Cornwall since 1977 with an emphasis in family law for the past 25 years. He appears regularly in the Superior Court of Justice, Family Branch at Cornwall and has extensive experience in the conduct of case and settlement conferences, motions and trials. He also has extensive experience in negotiation of settlements and the preparation of domestic contracts including separation agreements, marriage contracts and cohabitation agreements. Larry is a trained mediator and carries a mediation practice. Larry’s approach to a family law file is settlement oriented, and he has been successful in settling many cases. When court proceedings are required, they are conducted in a thorough and professional way with a focus on minimizing conflict and working towards a negotiated resolution.

  • Chairperson, from 1993 to the present, of the Family Court Committee of the Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry Law Association
  • Past Chairperson, Williamstown Public School, School Council, 2001-2002, 2002-2003 and 2003-2004 and member from 2000-2001 to 2003-2004
  • Past Member, St. Mary’s Parish Property and Finance Committee, 2002 to 2010
  • Past Director, Friendship Welcome Centre (treatment for alcohol abuse), 1996 and 1997
  • Past Director, Cornwall General Hospital, from 1992 to 1999, second vice-president from 1997 to 1999, chairperson of Quality Assurance Committee from 1992 to 1999
  • Director, Big Brothers of Cornwall, from 1977 to 1982
  • Annual participant in Law Society’s Law Day
  • Past participant in Law Society’s Lawyer Referral Service and as a result a significant amount of pro bono work
  • Guest speaker at various community group meetings when requested

 

Other Interests

Larry enjoys sports, both as a spectator and participant, and keeping in shape. Daily trips to the gym are part of his routine. He also enjoys travelling.
